Madrid Highlights Diversity and Coexistence

A new gathering in Madrid united community leaders, artists and experts in coexistence to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The event, promoted by Fundación Mejora at the national headquarters of Scientology in Madrid, placed emphasis on dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding. The dialogue included Clarisa Nieva of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, Fernando Hernández of the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, a Roma guitarist and composer, and human rights educator Denise González. Speakers offered different experiences and viewpoints on how mutual knowledge can reduce prejudice.

In the discussion, participants considered themes such as human rights, cultural identity and respect for differences. Fundación Mejora connected the initiative with Scientology’s emphasis on ethical values and community improvement. Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to European and international institutions, noted that cultural and religious diversity can become a strength when accompanied by mutual understanding and responsibility.
